Responsible Use Policy

Our Philosophy

HomeworkRev promotes a learning-first approach to AI homework tools. We believe these tools are most valuable when they help students understand concepts, build problem-solving skills, and develop academic confidence -- not when they replace thinking.

How Students Should Use AI Homework Tools

  • Study aid, not answer machine: Use AI to understand how problems are solved, then practice solving them independently.
  • Attempt first, then check: Always try problems on your own before consulting an AI tool. This makes the explanations more meaningful.
  • Focus on explanations: Read the step-by-step reasoning, not just the final answer. Understanding why is more valuable than knowing what.
  • Use study features: Tools like flashcards and quizzes help you retain what you learn, turning homework into genuine study sessions.
  • Write in your own words: For essays and writing assignments, use AI feedback to improve your own work rather than submitting AI-generated text.

Academic Integrity

Every educational institution has its own policies regarding AI tool usage. Students are responsible for understanding and following their school's academic integrity policies. When in doubt, ask your instructor.

HomeworkRev does not endorse or encourage the use of AI tools in ways that violate academic integrity policies. We explicitly advise against:

  • Submitting AI-generated solutions as your own original work
  • Using AI tools during exams or assessments where they are prohibited
  • Copying solutions without understanding the underlying concepts
  • Plagiarizing AI-generated text in essays or papers
